Before You Live Off Campus

Renting an off-campus apartment takes time and patience, and choosing the right roommates is essential. Live off campus with friends who have similar lifestyles and interests.

Choosing to live off campus can be exciting and fun, but also tiring and a huge responsibility. With the freedom of off campus life comes more bills, more chores and more worries. Ask friends where they live off campus and if they like the area

If this is your first time finding a place to live off campus, don't be afraid to ask for help. OCHO can assist you in your search for the perfect apartment and provide you with valuable information and resources that will enhance your off-campus living experience.

-First decide if you will live off campus alone in your new apartment or with roommates. If you will have roommates, how many? This will determine the number of bedrooms your apartment should have.

- You and your roommates should decide the price, approximate location and amenities of the apartment before you even start looking. If air conditioning or pets are a must, ask about this before you make an appointment to view the apartment.

When Moving In and Out of your apartment it is important to inspect the property for any damages.

MOVING IN -  Upon moving in photos should be taken of each room.  This is evidence of the condition of the apartment that you are accepting.

MOVING OUT – When moving out photos should also be taken and a walk through of your apartment should be done with the landlord or landlord representative.
