The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs responds to the needs
of the Greek system through the following services:
Advisement
Assist chapters in integrating the academic and co-curricular
aspects of fraternity and sorority life.
Advise IFC, MGLC, and PA in
governing the fraternity and sorority system.
Advise over 60 chapters,
which includes 30% of the student population (~3,500
students); 54 chapters housing
~l,500
students, over 500 are housed in the 15 University-owned
properties.
Database Management
Maintain database and report on chapter grade ranking and new member
class grades.
Maintain all new member programs and signed anti-hazing
contract of each new member.
Oversee chapter compliance with liability
insurance requirements, certificate of compliance deadlines,
and annual occupancy
rating.
Track alumni/ae attendance at events as well as alumni/ae
mailing lists.
Event Management
Co-coordinate recruitment activities for over
1,000 students annually.
Register weekly social events.
Co-coordinate large events such as Homecoming,
Faculty Reception, A.D. White Leadership Conference, Awards
Ceremony, and Slope Day.
External Relations
Serve as liaison to chapter facility corporation
boards, alumni/ae advisory boards, and national organizations.
Raise
funds for overall Greek-life initiatives and help facilitate individual
chapter fundraising campaigns.
Serve as liaison to Alumni Interfraternity
Council and Alumni/ae Panhellenic Advisory Council.
Coordinate Fraternity
and Sorority Advisory Council meetings.
Conduct alumni/ae outreach such
as regional meetings and campus visit programs.
Cultivate alumni/ae
of MGLC organizations to better serve the needs of the undergraduate
groups.
Facility/Financial
Coordinate facility maintenance and fire-safety
inspections of University-owned properties.
Assist student leaders in
financial management of University-owned properties.
Oversee coordination
and implementation of major renovations to University-owned properties.
Facilitate
construction requirements for Capital fundraising campaigns for
private and University-owned houses.
Leadership Development and Educational Programming
Oversee chapter
goal setting and evaluate implementation of the strategic plan.
Plan and
implement training and leadership seminars for student officers,
new members, and general membership.
Promote community service within the
system-conduct ~40,000 hours annually, raise ~$130,000 for charity.
Oversee
judicial process for chapter violations (40-60 cases resolved each
year).

is Free Web Space made available on the Registered
Student Organization web server.
