Alumni Interfraternity Council

Mission

The Alumni Interfraternity Council (AIFC) will support the mission of individual chapters and the Cornell fraternity system through the development and promotion of chapter-level alumni leadership.

Objectives
  • Ensure that every chapter has an active and effective alumni organization.
  • Support Greek alumni organizations that request assistance.
  • Facilitate communication to and among alumni using appropriate technologies.
  • Represent the interests of alumni through a close working relationship with the OFSA, FSAC, Cornell Development office and other University groups.
  • Provide support and guidance to undergraduate IFC leadership.
  • Develop and distribute materials to alumni to foster effective leadership, such as “best practices” and documents outlining issues affecting chapters.
  • Participate in other appropriate organizations, such as the NIC / FEA.

Composition/Duties

President

  • Manage human relations efforts, e.g., recruitment, management and motivation.
  • Develop and communicate AIFC’s strategic plan to membership.
  • Manage progress against AIFC’s strategic plan.
  • Foster communications to and among alumni.

Vice President – Development

  • Develop operational plans for committees.
  • Organize and oversee committees, e.g., their planning and progress.

Vice President – Finance

  • Develop and maintain annual budget(s).
  • Manage billing process.
  • Maintain financial records.

Vice President – Communications

  • Manage content development and distribution.
  • Develop and implement AIFC marketing program(s).

Vice President – Technology

  • Develop technology infrastructure, e.g., website, email lists, databases.
  • Manage and protect AIFC information and records.

Vice President – Legal

  • Advise AIFC on legal matters.
  • Advise chapters on legal resources available in specific areas, e.g., tax advice.
