The Interfraternity Council (IFC), Multicultural Greek Letter Council (MGLC) and the Panhellenic Council (PHC) compose the Cornell University Fraternity and Sorority governing system. Each has a separate constitution and recruitment procedure. A person must be a member of a fraternity or sorority to be involved with any of these three organizations.
Interfraternity Council (IFC)
The Interfraternity Council aims to promote leadership, brotherhood, scholarship, integrity, and self-governance, and set goals and guidelines to promote a system that will serve all our chapters. This council is composed of all fraternity chapters and is overseen by the IFC Executive Board.
Multicultural Greek Letter Council (MGLC)
The governing body for fraternities and sororities that represent culturally based Greek letter organizations whose membership includes historically African American, historically Latino/a, and Asian-interest. MGLC seeks to support the activities of its diverse membership. This council is composed of all multicultural Greek letter organizations and is overseen by the MGLC Executive Board.
Panhellenic Council (PHC)
The mission of the Panhellenic Association is to foster a supportive environment, which values scholarship, service and personal growth through a unified sisterhood. This council is composed of all sorority chapters and is overseen by the Panhellenic Executive Board.
