The Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Letter Council and the Panhellenic Council recognizes October as the Month of the Scholar.
Below are those students recognized for their outstanding commitment to the ideal of scholarship.
Sid Nadkarni is a senior from New Haven, CT in the College of Arts and Sciences, double majoring in Government and History. In addition to serving as President of the Kappa Delta Rho Fraternity, he also is President of the Cornell Debate Association and is currently working on a senior thesis in U.S. History. Also, Sid is an avid guitar player and rock music fan, and he plays in a band called Seafood Platter, which performed at Greek Awards last year. He plans on attending law school a few years after graduating college.
Jeffrey Hau is a current junior in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Economics. As a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity, he serves as the Chair of the Scholarship Committee for the chapter. His plans for the semester include developing a Scholarship and Careers Speaker Series, as well as creating tutoring programs and career advising programs for the brothers. Outside of Delta Chi, Jeff also serves as the Portfolio Manager for the Cornell Investment Club. Additionally, Jeff is currently pledging the Delta Sigma Pi Professional Fraternity this semester. Academically, Jeff has always strived for success and has maintained a 3.9 Overall GPA with a 4.0 Major GPA and making the Dean's List each semester since his start at Cornell. He hopes to pass on his academic success to the rest of the Delta Chi brotherhood as well as to his advisees through the Cornell Arts and Sciences Peer Advisor program through which he participates.
Evan Caruso is a junior pre-med. He has a fantastic GPA while still acting as our chapters Vice President for Programming. He has learned to effectively tackle the immense task of planning and running all of our events through delegation and time management. Evan is involved as an EMT and as a Training Captain at Northstar Dining. He is also on the dining hall committee. Even with all of his commitments, he manages dedicate sufficient time and resources to get the job done as a leader in our chapter. Evan has been responsible in a significant way to the growth and improvement in our chapter over the last year.
