Janet Shortall is an Associate Dean of Students and directs EARS (Empathy, Assistance and Referral Service). Janet is the director for the Crisis Manager Team and a member of the Community Support Team. EARS provides peer counseling support, semester-long counseling and listening skills training and also offer listening workshops for other student organizations at Cornell.
Casey Carr is an Associate Dean of Students and the advisor to Cornell Minds Matter (CMM)—a student run mental health advocacy program. She directs the CMM Center for Student Well-Being. Casey is also a lead Crisis Manager and the Director of the Community Support Team which facilitates support sessions for those effected by loss or a traumatic event.
Laura Weiss, LMSW, has been the Director of the Cornell Women's Resource Center since 2006. She loves working with students to create events, programming, and awareness on matters of gender, feminism, sexuality, diversity and inclusion and other issues that impact women's lives. Prior to coming to Cornell, Laura worked as a therapist specializing in sexual assault counseling at Northeastern University, where she was also a lecturer in the Human Services department. At Cornell, she is part of a number of committees working to prevent sexual violence and bias, and works very closely with students to help create educational programming, events and opportunities for dialogue on these topics and many others. Laura is a confidential Victim Advocate for anyone who has experienced sexual violence or is seeking information and support related to sexual violence.
Mar Pérez, manages all aspects of program coordination for the office of Student and Community Support; cross-functional coordination, information management, and support for crisis management and community support teams. She manages publicity and design, public relations, websites and educational materials for the OS&CS.
