We are committed to providing information and services that result in informed housing decisions.

Securing the return of your Security Deposit!

Text to Describe Photo

Moving out of your rental property can be very hectic, but there are a number of checklists and tools the Office of Off-Campus Living has developed to assist you with this process.

The first thing you need to do is think and plan ahead. Utilize our Moving Out Checklist and the Cleaning Your Apartment Checklist.

Things to think about:

  • Cleaning Service (web search for local business)
  • Moving Truck or Company (web search for local business)
  • Shipping or Storage (Student Agencies' Bid Red Shipping & Storage used by Campus Life or a web search for local business)
  • Review Rent Security Deposits section within the New York State Tenant's Right Guide (page 8 to 9) produced by the New York State Attorney General's Office for information on getting your security deposit back.
